Today marks the fiftieth consecutive day I have run one or more miles.
Monday through Sunday, rain, cold and even a couple late night runs in jeans, I have diligently laced up my shoes, stepped outside, stretched a little and started running.
One mile isn’t a great distance, but it’s far enough to feel accomplished and short enough to stay motivated to do it on the hard days since it takes me ten minutes or less to accomplish.
Over these past several weeks I have run mixed distances ranging from one mile to six and a half, and whilst I’m not about to start running marathons, I’ve definitely noticed an uptick in my physical and mental wellness.
So here’s to the next fifty days. Minus an injury that inhibits me, I am determined to keep this running streak going.
