Discipline is more important than motivation. One of the great hindrances to our development is our over reliance on feelings.
Discipline is not a feeling, discipline is something we do and become independent of our feelings.
A good way to practice and develop discipline is to pick something small, like waking up on-time, then committing and promising to show up every day.
I have been running at least one mile every day for six months. I haven’t missed one day. I rarely feel motivated. But I’ve laced up, gotten out, and run in the cold, the rain and even with shingles.
Start small, be discipled, create momentum.
