Fighting Dragons
Daily Thought No. 75
“Daddy do you fight dragons?”
“Of course! I fight them every day”
“You do? How come I’ve not seen them?”
“Because I stop them before they make it to our home”
“You’re just being silly; aren’t you?”
“Honey. I keep many dragons away from our home. Every day I keep the dragons of Hunger, poverty, darkness and evil away from this home. You see my dear, some children live in homes where daddies can’t or won’t fight these dragons so they live in homes that are filled with hunger, darkness and things too scary for your precious mind to consider right now”
“Those aren’t real dragons daddy”
“They might not look like the dragons in the picture books, but the dragons I fight to keep our home safe are just as scary and fierce as any mythical dragon”
“Daddy, I don’t understand”
“Honey I know. One day you will. For now just enjoy being a child. One day you’ll have to fight these dragons too but don’t worry, I’ll teach you how to kill them.”
From my home in Almost Heaven,
