I’ve been wrestling a lot lately with thoughts about the purpose of my life. I feel like I want to have a clear purpose that I can use as a guide for the next 30-years or more.
The Bible says that without a vision, people perish. I also heard it said that if you don’t know where you want to go, any road will take you there.
I don’t want to wake up 30-years from now and realize I’ve wasted and wandered away my life. I have achieved and accomplished some great things in my first 33-years of life, but lately I’ve been asking, what next? What now?
These aren’t questions that Google can answer. I know because I’ve tried.
Like I said, I’ve been wrestling with this question of my life’s purpose for some time and have felt frustrated many times as I’ve gone round in circles searching online.
So today I decided to go on a wireless walk, that means a walk without any technology to distract me. I decided I needed to talk to God and not google.
I didn’t hear Gods voice, but as I walked along the trail speaking out loud to my creator, I started to have thoughts and ideas come to my mind, some were old thoughts I’ve had before but were a little more refined and other ideas and thoughts were new.
When I got back to the car I tried to write down what I had been thinking into something of a life’s purpose statement. I think it still needs a little refinement and I’m sure the wrestle is far from over, but but it felt good that some progress was made today.
