Knowing that church is a hospital for the spiritually sick, wounded and injured, and that Christ is the great physician, it should not be surprising to us that church will hurt sometimes. Indeed if church doesn’t hurt sometimes, perhaps it is not working. The process of fixing what is broken and healing what is hurt is often a painful one. But this pain of Christ’s healing that can be found at church has the purpose of one day making us whole again.
