I believe it is intellectual immaturity to disregard the Bible in its entirety. Whether we accept the Bible as true or not, it remains an amazing book and for better or worse contains many of the stories and foundational ideas upon which many of the most successful societies that have ever existed have been built and sustained over the years. To disregard and abandon the Bible and the Christianity that flows from it is not only disruptive but also very dangerous. Even if we claim the bible to be no more than the beautiful fiction of our ancestors, this would not diminish it’s value or importance for us today. In fact, the stories, lessons, and teachings found in the Bible might be more important today than ever before.
