My daughter came home from school with this hat last week. Perhaps you enjoy drinking milk and consuming dairy, and that’s fine, but here’s why I have started saying no thank you to milk.
Cows produce milk because they are mothers. Mothers trying to provide the nutrients their babies need to grow.
All mammalian mothers produce milk for their newborn offspring with each mammal producing the almost perfect mixture of milk to provide the nutrients and calories needed for their young to survive and grow.
Humans produce perfect milk for humans and cows produce perfect milk for cows. This is true of every mammal.
So logically it makes more sense to me to drink the milk from my wife’s breasts than it does to drink the milk from the udders of an unknown cow!
I don’t drink breast milk because I don’t need it anymore. If adult humans still required milk, human mothers would keep producing it! But they don’t!
A mothers milk naturally decreases and disappears as their baby grows and becomes able to sustain life eating fruits, vegetables, grains and legumes.
Cows are no different. They produce milk for their newborns that depletes as their calf grows and becomes able to sustain its life eating grass. So how then do we keep up this extremely high production of milk? Here’s how…
Now I will concede that this process is not true in every instance, but it is common practice in the dairy industry for cows to be forcibly inseminated in a rather unpleasant manner. Then after delivery, the calves are forcibly removed, distressing both mother and baby.
The babies are then either bottle fed or slaughtered depending on their gender or usefulness and the mother is hooked up to machines that pump out her milk.
This process must be repeated each year for a cow to continue production. And then when a dairy cow, a mother, is no longer profitable, she’s slaughtered.
I believe that God created animals for the use and benefit of mankind, but I struggle to believe that this is what God meant when he gave us dominion over the animals. This isn’t dominion, it’s depravity!
I can no longer in good conscience consume the milk of a mother who has been forced and abused to create milk that nature intended for the nurture and nourishment of her babies.
Milk please? Only if you’re offering soy, almond or oat.
