From a global perspective, almost every person living in America could be considered wealthy. America has so much wealth inside her borders that for those fortunate to live within them can be left feeling poor because they aren’t quite as wealthy as the perceive others to be. I think we sometimes see this idea within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Most Saints, from a global perspective, are brilliant, successful, and worthy. However, because there is so much good within the ranks of the church, it is possible to believe that we aren’t quite as adequate, worthy or secure as other saints, often because we are comparing ourselves to some of the finest men and women our world has to offer. Comparison is rarely productive, but of these two options, lets adopt the bigger picture perspective and realize that if we are saints, we are almost certainly succeeding.
