I like to visit cemeteries at least a couple of times each year to reflect alone upon the purpose and impermanence of my life. To sit quietly and walk gently among the graves of those I do not know has in many ways become one of my sacred places where I am able to draw closer to heaven. I am not suggesting that cemeteries are for everyone, but it is important for each of us to find our own sacred places and spaces where we can be still and know God.
