To achieve anything worthwhile will require pain and suffering.
To the best of my knowledge there are no detours or shortcuts around this. It seems to be a universal truth that the price of progress is pain.
Sometimes it is physical pain, but often it includes mental, emotional and spiritual pain too. The type depending on what we are trying to achieve.
This truth is difficult because we seem almost hardwired to avoid pain and seek comfort. But comfort is often just an illusion. We choose perceived comfort now but often reap greater pain in the future than had we just opted for pain on the front-end.
They talk about breaking through the pain barrier and sometimes that barrier can last a long time. That’s why too many never achieve much that is great.
Sacrifice is painful. To achieve something we must sacrifice our desires, our time, our comfort, our fears, our anxieties, our doubts, our laziness. The price of progress in any direction from where we are today will always be pain.
