Looking at a historical graph of the stock market serves as a great analogy for marriage. Some days the market is up, others down. There are recessions, depressions and volatility. But long term the market has always recovered and returned stronger than ever. Fair weather investors often lose their money and their wealth when the market is experiencing turbulence because they panic, sell, and bail out. Those who choose to stay, trust their strategy and continue investing and ride out the downs are those who most often win and build wealth. From personal experience, and observation, the best outcomes in marriage occur when we stay invested and keep investing when our relationship is experiencing good market conditions, and perhaps more importantly even when they are adverse.
