I don’t believe there was a tree, but what else I cannot say. At some point though they made a choice, a choice that made them see. It made them see the evil and allowed them to know the good. It showed them they were naked, spiritually naked in a universe where left unguarded, unprotected they’d become devils. So God clothed them, not only with apparel but with his power and endowed them with a promise that there new found knowledge if directed right really could transform them into Gods. Their story, that first story is mine and yours too. Our eyes are opened when we make the choice to partake of the fruit of knowledge, and we like them discover when we do that we like them are naked. It is here that we must either decide to hide, or allow ourselves to be clothed. I myself have tried the hiding, but find that clothes feel much better.
